The Book of Judith is a musical play about a man named Michael Rubenfeld who meets a quadriplegic woman named Judith Snow and she changes his life by helping him recognize his own ignorance around disability and difference. Believing he has “seen the light” and with the help of his director and her best friend who is blind, Michael corals a fully integrated choir of performers with mixed ability to help him preach the Book of Judith and convert the audience with his inspirational, maniacal and deeply suspect tale of Judith Snow. After premiering in 2009 in co-production with The Theatre Centre, this provocative, transformational performance comes to the state-of-the-art Abilities Centre, promoting inclusive and innovative programs for people of all ages and abilities.

This Book of Judith is performed with a full community choir that is sourced entirely from the community the piece is being performed in. To date, we have worked with four choirs and over 80 different artists.
