Book of Judith in Whitby
In June 2014, selfconcious organized its fifth run of the Book of Judith in the Abilities Centre in Whitby. The showing was accompanied by Accessing the Arts Symposium exploring accessibility in the performing arts. Through the symposium we intended to further activate the conversation central to The Book of Judith’s core message of inclusion. Through panels, discussions, and keynotes presented by artists, arts professionals and organizations committed to incorporating inclusive thinking and practice into their programming we aimed to contribute to the conversation about a more diverse, accessible arts community in Canada.
The Book of Judith was produced by Selfconscious Theatre in partnership with Abilities Centre and The Theatre Centre.
Generous support provided by Canada Council for the Arts, The Ontario Trillium Foundation, and Ontario Arts Council.
Accessing the Arts Symbosium was realized by Selfconscious Theatre and Abilities Centre with generous support from the Equity Office of the Canada Council for the Arts.
