In January 2014, selfconscious did ten workshop days on We Keep Coming Back that culminated with a showing for a small audience. For this workshop we worked with Cameron Davies (video), Lyon Smith (sound) and Emilie Aubin (stage management) as well as the core creative team.

Our next two-week development phase will be in partnership with Theatre Kana in Szczecin, Poland in August/September 2014.

In November, 2013, selfconscious went to Poland and Sweden with Michael’s mother, Mary Berchard and author/filmmaker, Katka Reszke. This was a research trip to support the development of We Keep Coming Back. On this trip, they visited Mary’s parents’ small home towns of Komarówka Podlaska and Wolbrom. They also went to Treblinka and Auschwitz as well as Warsaw and Krakow. They ended the trip in Uppsala, Sweden, where Mary was born and lastly, in Stockholm. It rained the entire time and they stayed in many different places, some of them were very bad. The trip was incredible.
